Abs Diet Recipes
Introduction:
Welcome to my Hub on Abs Diet Recipes. I am Adam, AJ for short, and want to start by thanking you for visiting my hub page. For those of you who are new to my Hub the Abs Diet is a diet plan sponsored by Men's Health magazine that is all about clean eating and exercise. I know crazy a diet that makes you eat right and exercise. Anyway, I love to eat good food and try to do it without blowing up like a balloon so I welcome you to join me in creating some of my favorite Abs diet friendly recipes as well as creating some of your own to share with me.
Eggs Benefit
A Good way to Start the Day!
Ingredients:
-- 1 egg
-- 1 egg white
-- 2 slices of Canadian Bacon
-- Olive Oil (enough to grease pan)
-- 1Whole Grain/Wheat English Muffin
-- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
-- 1 Cup of Coffee
Everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day so I start it off right with 1 egg and 1 egg white scrambled in enough olive oil just to keep it sticking from the pan. Don't eat both eggs whole though, because you will just be adding the bad fats and raising your cholesterol by throwing in that extra egg yolk and I promise you won't be any more satisfied.
Fry up the Canadian bacon in the pan next to the eggs you will add a little extra flavor to them and get the protein your body needs to build muscle and burn fat.
Add to you plate a whole grain english muffin with that tablespoon of peanut butter on top. Whole grains are great for you and the peanut butter will give it flavor and give you an extra boost of protein.
Coffee is surprisingly not bad for you. Yeah it can be a dehydrant but since it is mainly water based it has no sugars or fats that will add on weight. Plus how can you go a morning with your beloved coffee.
Chicken Jerk-Bobs
Yes it is named after that fat guy you know.
Ingredients:
-- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
-- 1/2 green bell pepper
-- 1/2 yellow bell pepper
-- 1/2 red bell pepper
-- 1 small onion
-- 2 cups brown rice
-- Jerk Seasoning (However much you want)
Chicken is a great source of protein and it is very lean and essentially fat free. But it can also be very dry and boring if not prepared right, which is why I took a traditional kabobs and created the jerk bobs. Jerk bobs are really nothing more than a standard shish-kabob with a nice jerk rub rubbed on to them so preparation should be pretty simple for must of you.
Though your chicken because it will be easier to skewer, unless you like stabbing yourself with those little wooden sticks. Then chop up your bell peppers and onion into pieces that you are going to be able to pick up with a fork; if you cut them to small they will probably break while trying to skewer them. Find your jerk and rub it into the chicken. I prefer to do this after cutting the meat so that I can cover more of the chicken and get extra flavor out of it.
Before I skewer the meat and veggies I like to soak my skewers in an oil water mix so the don't catch on fire as quickly when I lay them on the grill. With your food and skewers now ready to go place them on a preheated grill and let them cook. I like to use a low heat to keep the flame down once again to ensure that my wooden kabobs skewers don't start on fire.
Boil the rice using the instructions on the packaging and you will have a healthy dish that will help quench some of the jerk as it can be a bit spicy. I generally serve this with a glass of milk, but water or green tea would be a great alternative.
Thanks again for visiting my hub, be sure to come back everyday and see what new recipes I have to offer. Oh and put your own in the comments and I will add them to the site.
