Introduction:

First off, thank you very much for visiting my hub. I am Adam, AJ for short, and am the author of dysoninfo.com a website all about Dyson vacuum cleaners. I started Dyson info when I first purchased my Dyson DC24 about 1 year ago, sometime in 2008 for those of you from the future.

The purpose of this hub is to inform and offer a place to discuss the different models of upright vacuum cleaners in Dyson's range. So please feel free to leave a comment below if you have anything to say about your Dyson vacuum.

Common Features of The Dyson Upright Vacuums

The Dyson Limited company currently offers 5 different models of vacuum cleaner: the DC14, DC17, DC24, DC25, and DC28. Below are listed the common features you will find on one of the Dyson models.

Asthma & Allergy Friendly

Many Dyson vacuums are certified by the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America. What that means to you is that the air the exits your vacuum is actually cleaner and more hypoallergenic than when the air entered your vacuum. This is a pretty prestigious certification as the AAFA website shows Dyson is the only manufacturer with any vacuums certified.

Root Cyclone Technology

Every Dyson vacuum cleaner, whether part of their upright line up or not, comes with some version of the root cyclone technology.

The Root Cyclone is the technological advancement that has really pushed the Dyson brand of vacuums to the forefront of the industry. The design of their intake creates a cyclonic type of suction which pushes dirt and other contaminants to the bottom of the vacuums canister allowing for air to flow freely as you vacuum. This means that you will never see or feel a loss of suction while you are vacuuming.

Telescope Reach Wand

Every upright Dyson vacuum comes with a Telescope Reach wand. The telescoping wand allow for you to extend the length of the wand by up to 17 feet in some cases. Which makes cleaning stairs, the corners of ceilings, and fan blades very simple.

Fingertip Brush Control

The Dyson brush bar can be controlled from a toggle, on/off, switch located somewhere toward the top of your vacuum. They call this "fingertip brush control" the purpose is to allow you to turn your brush bar off when you are vacuuming rugs or bare floors. The benefit of this is increasing the life of your rugs and keeping your from being scratched by the brushes or any debris you may be picking up.

Lifetime HEPA Filter

The Dyson Lifetime HEPA filter traps microscopic allergens such as pollen and promises to for the life of your vacuum. If you follow the vacuums instructions on how to clean a Dyson filter you will certainly realize the value of it as you are spending $5.00 here and there replaces your ordinary vacuums.
